INGOT – The Major Crimes Unit of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department is treating the deaths of two Friday, October 21 as a possible double homicide according to Captain John Hubbard.
The Montgomery Creek Volunteer Fire Company was among the first to respond to the report of two structure fires at the Ingot Canyon Auto Dismantlers. They were paged out at 5:47 p.m. and quickly extinguished both fires, but heavy smoke hung in the area for some time.
According to a witness, firefighters found a body in each burned structure, one of which was a travel trailer. The firemen roped off the scene and contacted the Cal Fire Prevention Officer, the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office.
