CSD Rate Hike Moves Forward Director Sworn In

Filed under: Uncategorized — waltblog @ 5:10 pm

FALL RIVER MILLS – Sky Snyder (pictured left) was sworn in as the fifth member of the Fall River Mills Community Services District’s board of directors.
Manager John Van den Bergh, explained that even though the average rate increase, if the board approves it, will be approximately 20% over three years, the majority of the customers will actually be under 18%.
The audience reflected a low level of concern, with less than five people who hadn’t been attending the district meetings on a fairly regular basis.
Van den Bergh explained that the district’s plan is to use the same formula for everyone. That formula is setting a base rate figured on what it costs the district to deliver the water. The second part is the amount of water used.
The board gave staff to go ahead with the process which includes notices and public hearings and is expected to take a number of months before they vote to approve, modify or deny the increase.
