Water District Okays $697,000 Budget

Burney- Three of the Burney Water District’s board of directors passed the district’s 2012/13 budget last night, 7/19/12. The budget was built on the expectations of receiving $1,118,900. That amount is 98% of the unaudited total of $1,139,119 received in the last fiscal year. The 16 page budget anticipates $502,200 in labor expenses and $702,705 in general expenses for a potential shortfall of $86,005.
The budget is broken into three departments, Water, Sewer and Pool.
The budget shows that they expect to receive $637,065 in revenue, expend $222,456 in labor to deliver water to its customers they anticipate spending $61,324 for general expenses supporting that service. Depreciation is an additional $95,300 for the water infrastructure which gives them a potential “profit” of $13,776 in that department for the year.
