FALL RIVER MILLS – The Fall River Valley Community Services District’s (CSD) board of Directors appointed retired Burney and Fall River Justice Court Supervisor Paulette Gooch to fill the Director’s chair left vacant with the resignation of Board Chair Bill Johnson. Gooch, who was also the Supervisor of the Burney Branch of the Shasta County Superior Court before her retirement, has worked on the district’s proposal to obtain PG&E Stewardship land and has recently helped District Manager John Van den Bergh write grant proposals.
The board is still seeking interested applicants to fill the position left with the resignation of director Bill Estes who resigned due to health concerns. A past chair, Sandy Jensen took over as temporary chair and the board agreed not to elect a permanent chair until they seat a fifth board member. All five of the director seats will be up for election this coming November. Three of the seats will be open because of turnover in directors and will be for two years. Two will open because the current terms will expire. To date none of the current directors have indicated whether they will or will not seek re-election.
