Mountain Echo misinterpreted an agenda item on the CSD’s agenda last week and reported that the board would be taking action on a proposal that would start the process and could lead to an 18% increase in rates over the next three years. That was incorrect. The agenda item was simply an anticipated report. As stated on the agenda, the report indicated that there would be an 18% increase. The district plans to have a special rate meeting July 26th, which the public is encouraged to attend, to explain the budget committee’s proposal.
Acting Board Chair Sandy Jensen says the committee took a lot of input from their Association regarding the state law and other issues surrounding the rate structure and procedure they need to go through before they can put a rate increase into effect.
