FALL RIVER MILLS – The Fall River Mills Fire Protection District passed a $77,743 preliminary budget at their June 21 meeting.
The budget provides for $33,326 for salaries and benefits, $8,000 for insurance, $5,000 for equipment and $4,000 for fuel $4,300 for utilities, $2,500 for the county’s charge for administration fee, $2,500 for fire call expense, $1,900 for the district’s independent audit $3,500 for minor equipment.
The district expects to receive an estimated $77,265 in revenue.
In other business Fire Chief Scott Gallion said he and Al Small, the district’s maintenance man will go to Chico to check out some older “but new” hydrants the Chico Fire Department wants to sell. If a good price was negotiated it could save the Fall River Department considerable money.
